Weddings

Music sets the tone for the whole ceremony and reception, and is something that absolutely makes or breaks the feel of the day. It is often overlooked in the planning but is an aspect that guests cannot tune out, and the music physically  creates the atmosphere that you and your guests are in. I believe that if you get the music just right you will feel relaxed and happy on the day and the tone will be set for a fabulous event.

The louise&johnnyduo are highly sought after for Christchurch and New Zealand weddings.  We are happy to meet with the client prior to the big day to discuss their options and suggest ideas. Fees are negotiable depending on time of year, length of performance, length of time required at venue, time of day etc. Please contact for an exact, obligation free quote.

We are very particular about the music and work closely with you to share all the tips that we have picked up from  past weddings to help you get this aspect just right. If you need any help in organising music for the day I am happy to chat with you.

CEREMONY

We can play a favourite song as the bridal party walks down the aisle which is adapted to the length of time this takes. We can also play a chosen song during the signing of the register (which usually takes approx 5-6 minutes) and for the bridal exit or post ceremony congratulations.

If we are booked for the ceremony alone fees depend on the amount of songs requested. Package deals are available if we play for both the ceremony and afterwards.

Examples of previously requested ceremony songs:

Songbird - Eva Cassidy

ThankYou - Dido

Shadowfeet - Brooke Fraser

Steady As We Go - Dave Matthews Band

Til Kingdom Come - Coldplay

Kissing You - Des'ree

No-one - Alicia Keys

Can't Help Falling in Love - Elvis Presley / Michael Buble

Walking on the Moon - The Police

Fell in Love With a Boy - Joss Stone

Wild Horses - The Rolling Stones

Distant Sun - Crowded House

Everything I Do - Bryan Adams

If - Bread

Have I Told You Lately THat I Love You - Rod Stewart

Come Away With Me - Norah Jones

Annie's Song - John Denver

RECEPTION

The duo fits well into the 'post - ceremony drinks / nibbles' slot, often while the bridal party is off having photos taken. We can either play an alternative to jazz being a modern jazz / soul / motown set or a more popular background set. The acoustic sound works well for this time of day and is a nice, relaxing way to begin the reception. Favourite songs may be added to the set or requested from the setlist as well.

We are happy for guests to use the PA system for announcements or speeches and will work in with you in establishing how best to fit the music into the day. After attending many weddings we are able to help you work out the easiest way for the music to run.

We are sometimes booked to play during the dinner, in which case we will play a laid - back, non-intrusive set.

A specialised dance set is now also available upon request which works well in smaller venues as it is either a 3 or 4 piece with vocals - guitar - keyboard - percussion. We will learn songs for the first dances and create a setlist that works well for your guests. If we are not the right band for your wedding we will give you some advice / names of people who could be more appropriate. This has been a popular option for many couples hosting smaller weddings (up to 100) or weddings in residential areas.
